Wood strip flooring is the most versatile of wooden flooring. It can be used as a 'structural' floor, spanning between joists, and taking the place of chipboard or old floorboards. It can be fitted directly on top of old floorboards, flattening out minor differences in levels. With the number of extentions currently being built I have often fitted a strip floor from the old building into the new... in one move unifying the old and new elements together. Most popular is Oak, but Maple, Beech and Cherry are also popular. At Chandos Deli in George Street, Bath, I installed American Ash, a hard wearing light coloured wood that is both durable and attractive. |
